Read Romans 8:14-17

And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. - Romans 8:17 (NLT)

When we receive the Holy Spirit, and live under his control, we receive a new identity. We are no longer just servants (willing or not) of God, but children of God, part of His family. That’s a glorious heritage, and a glorious inheritance. Keeping that inheritance in mind will strengthen and encourage us as we face suffering in the meantime.
