Ephesians – God’s Power in Us

Read Ephesians 1:19-23

I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. Ephesians 1:19 (NLT)

Where are you seeing God’s power at work in your life? Until we are willing to live under the authority of God, and abide in Him, and surrender and submit to Him, we won’t know the power of God. Listen as Jason expands on what this can mean in our daily lives.

Ephesians – Prayer

Read Ephesians 1:15-18

I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly – Ephesians 1:16 (NLT)

Life is a daily struggle against sin, death, and the devil. Therefore Paul highlights the importance of prayer. Prayer can fill our souls with God’s light, so that it spills out into the lives of all those around us, whether other Christians who need God’s strength, or unbelievers who need God’s forgiveness.

Ephesians – God’s Purpose

Read Ephesians 1:12-14

And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. Ephesians 1:13b (NLT)

God’s purpose is that we will praise and glorify Him. The devil is constantly trying to get us to doubt our salvation, but there are markers of people who are living by grace through faith. As we see God using our lives to bear testimony to His name, we can know that our lives are bringing praise to Him.

Ephesians – God’s Plan

Read Ephesians 1:9-11

And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth. Ephesians 1:10 (NLT)

We can never know all of God’s intention, but we can know the end result of his plan—that eventually everything will be brought under the authority of Christ. And we can also know that God wills us to be part of this plan, to share in Christ’s reign, and to share his love and forgiveness with others.

Ephesians – Chosen

Read Ephesians 1:3-8

Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. Ephesians 1:4 (NLT)

Every single day I need to be reminded of who I am in Christ. I am God’s precious chosen creation. And even though I have strayed from God’s holy way, He has redeemed me by the blood of Christ to live to the glory of God.
