Paul in Athens

Acts 17:16-34

When in a pagan city (Athens) Paul started by going on a discovery mission. He discovered that the Athenians were very religious, so he used that as his starting point. “What you worship as unknown, I declare to you”…(v.23ff). He also used their way of processing as he explained to them the whole way of salvation. His reception was mixed, but Paul understood that for some he was just planting seeds.
Are you the kind of person who is good at investigating others’ understanding of spiritual things? Remember not to jump right to just telling them the gospel in the same way you always do, but take the time to help them use the pieces of truth they already understand to connect the dots and gain a deeper understanding of the faith.
