For several years we at Covenant have been blessed by our involvement with ALPHA. ALPHA has enriched many people, helping them with a solid understanding of what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. For some time we have sought to find the next step in helping followers of Jesus to grow more fully devoted. OMEGA is clearly an answer to that search.
Nearly 20 people attended the first 12-week OMEGA course at Covenant. Without exception each one responded positively to the time spent in learning and applying the Biblical / Spiritual truths taught and examined. Attendees felt the seminar was both informative and inspirational, but the overwhelming response was that the seminar was transforming in their lives. Several made significant spiritual decisions. These included several new commitments to Jesus Christ, a response to a call from God to service, a career change, and a response to God’s call into the ministry.
Both Jason and Kristine were excellent presenters they were engaging, and they helped people understand some of the deeper things in the faith. As one attendee put it, “Kristine is so witty and creative and Jason really knows his stuff!” Another wrote, “Jason & Kristine were open and sincere with a good dash of humor.” The only negative comment received was that there was so much material covered it was at times somewhat overwhelming. To this one evaluator wrote “I look forward to taking the seminar again to pick up what I missed the first time.”
As a Pastor I am always grateful for people who come along side the church and give fresh Biblical teaching and insight that aids the members to grow in their faith. The OMEGA Course accomplished that for Covenant, and I am truly grateful. I look forward with considerable joy to many OMEGA courses at Covenant in the years to come.
